When installing our heat shade window screens, we (www.solarscreenquestions.com) are very careful about our installation techniques. This particular window here is a vinyl window. On vinyl windows, we have to direct screw the heat shade screens onto the windows as illustrated in this picture. One of the things you have to be very careful of with vinyl windows, as well as other windows, is that all windows have these seeping holes.
Look at the bottom of this window and you’re going to see on the left and right side little slits. Those slits provide water to escape from when they seep into the window. It is important that you do not cover those drainage holes up. Therefore, these heat shade window screens that we build, we make darn sure that we do not cover up those seepage holes.
