Window shade screens can either fit into a window that accommodates a full size screen, therefore the screen just pops into the window frame via lip provisions at the top of the of the window and bottom that hold the screen in place. Going across the middle of the screen, concealed behind the fabric that you cannot see in this picture, there is a support bar.

That support bar provides width support so the vertical sides of the solar screen does not bow in. You do not want your solar window shade screens to bow in. If they do, you’re going to have wavy fabric. As illustrated in these pictures, there is no wavy fabric, these screens are very tight. Now, in this picture, we used the die cast turn clips to surface mount these window shade screens.
